Reflections of Christ

I guess this photo exhibit, Reflections of Christ, has been on display at the Mesa temple. The photographer, Mark Mabry, recreated the story of Christ's life with photography, taking pictures in Arizona in areas that resemble the Holy Land. There's music too so turn on your speakers. It is beautiful, Enjoy!

Medieval Fair

For the past few years I have heard of the Medieval Fair here in Norman. It is a fair that has been going on for the past 30 years. Last year it rained so I didn't want to go. It was a beautiful day -- 70 degrees with a light breeze. I called up our friends Kirk and Heather and their three girls and we went to the fair.

To say the least -- it was very interesting. I was told the fair has great Indian tacos, and funnel cakes. We were also cautioned about cleavage. When the women dress up in the medieval attire everything gets pushed up a little.

We saw an elephant, donkeys, llamas, and a camel.

We had a nice time. It was really nice to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Happy Birthday Dad

During the summer we were shopping for suits, when Harry (Nick's Dad) blessed us with this little freestyle. As a birthday gift we thought we would post this for your viewing pleasure. Harry we hope you have a wonderful birthday. We Love You!

My 24th Birthday

So I celebrated my 24th birthday the other day. I know, I know I'm
getting so old. We didn't do a whole lot, just had some delicious food
(corned beef and cabbage, candy salad and mashed red potatoes)
and had a few friends over. Heather also made a Skor cake that
was wonderful. It was a nice relaxing day.

Nick and Marianne with our adopted kids (Kayla and Kynda).

Kynda loves doing hair. She kept brushing my
hair and putting my headband in for like 30 minutes.

Jonathan and Chelsea left during a rain storm so Nick made them waterproof jackets.

Nick's First Stitches

The other night Nick and I were making a yummy dinner. We were trying out a new recipe for poppyseed chicken and adding a cabbage salad on the side. The chicken was in the oven cooking and Nick had started chopping up the cabbage while I made the dressing. All of a sudden Nick grabbed his thumb and ran to the sink. I didn't believe him at first because this is a classic Nick move. Then I saw blood dripping from his gashed thumb.

I was able to get a hold of my boss who is a doctor. He met us at his office and five stitches later, Nick was all patched up. Nick now claims he shouldn't have to help with dinner anymore. I'll just make sure that he steers clear of the sharp knives.

Coming Home

Last week I booked my flight home to Utah. Yeah!! I haven't been home since August - I am really ready. I am looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting my sweet nephew (hopefully he is born by then). I fly in on Friday, March 7th. If anyone wants to get together for lunch, let me know I would love to see you all.

Rock Climbing

Over the weekend we decided to go rock climbing with our friends. Cameron and Britny came in from Arkansas. Oh, the weather was beautiful this weekend, it was nearly 70 degrees.

The rock climbing walls are located in and on an old grain silo.

We had such a good time, both Nick and Cam made it to the top of the silo. Brit and I made it up about half way.
