Surprise Ultrasound

Today at lunch my boss/doctor informed me that he wanted me to do an ultrasound today. I am measuring big (by 2-3 weeks) and he wanted to be sure that my fluid levels are normal. I called Nick (trying not to concern him) and told him he needed to leave work and be there for the ultrasound. My fluid levels are normal, we are just going to have a big baby!! He is weighing in at 3 pounds 12 ounces (on track to be an 8 pound baby). His head is in the 99th percentile, and his femur is in the 97th percentile. (and he has big lips -- like his mamma)

Here are some pics.

This is Aaron sucking on his foot.

He is putting his hand in his mouth.

This is a view of his face (with his hand and foot on the side).

Now he is kind of squishing his face with his hand and foot.

Another peek at baby Aaron

On Thursday we had an ultrasound. We were intending to get a few pictures of him in 3D. Well, he was a little stinker and he was hiding his face in my hip. Great for labor, bad for a photo session. Eventhough we didn't get great pictures of his face, it was so fun to see him.

Aaron is currently 2 pounds 9 ounces. On track to be a 7 to 8 pound baby. We saw him "practice" breathing, looking around and yawning. He was so fun to watch!

This first picture is a little dark, but it is of him yawning.

We got another picture of his foot (getting so big).

Now for my favorite picture (and the only 3D picture we have). If you look close you can see his little hand, covering the side of his face.

My Trip to Utah

In mid-October I went to Utah for a week. It was nice to see everyone. I stayed with Jessica, Jeff and Peyton. It was fun because it was only my third time seeing Peyton. He is so stinkin' cute. His smile is so contagious and he smiles all the time. Like I said, I was there for a week and here are a few fun things that did.

Here are some random fun pictures of Peyton.

My family had a baby shower for me and Aaron which was really fun. I received lots of fun things. It was nice to see all my family and friends.

We also went to the Body Worlds exhibit.
This was my second time going and it is really interesting.
The human body is amazing and I love to test my memory.

For some reason my feet were very swollen when I was in Utah.
I know this is kind of strange, but here are some pictures.

Jessica and I had fun getting a pedicure. I decided I need to do this more often -- I really love it!

We went to dinner with Dad, Cindy and the family.

My Growing Tummy

Well, here are the pictures on my tummy at 22.2 weeks. I am feeling well -- my back pain is mostly gone -- Yeah!!  I have already started wearing compression socks because I am on my feet all day long. By the end of the day my feet are already very sore and swollen.

Feeling Movement

About two weeks ago I started feeling our little baby move. At first I wasn't sure, but it kept happening so I knew what it was. He has been getting stronger and more active and two nights ago Nick was able to feel him and see him move.

This weekend I will take another picture of my belly -- I think it has gotten a lot bigger in the last two weeks. It really feels that way because many of my clothes don't fit the same.

18 Week US

Today we had an ultrasound. This is actually a required one. We were able to see all his fetal anatomy and do measurements to make sure everything is in the correct place. He is doing great. He is 7 1/2 inches from head to bum and he weighs 9 oz. He is sitting very low -- so mommy's lower back hurts.

This is a 3D picture of him sucking his thumb -- seriously precious!

This is the bottom of his foot.

This one is of his long legs (just like daddy).

This is just to show how squished he is in there.
Everything is okay -- but man that looks uncomfortable.

I think, therefore I am.

Jessica just sent us this picture of Peyton waxing philosophical. So cute -- I can't stop laughing!

It's A Boy!

We had another ultrasound last Wednesday. We knew we were a little early, but we are now 99% sure that we are having a baby boy. He is now the size of an apple and weighs about 4 oz. We are so excited and all is well!

Family Cruise

We just returned home from a cruise to the Western Carribean. We sailed on Carnival and went to Grand Caymen and Cozamel, Mexico. In Grand Caymen we went to Stingray City, where we went swimming with the stingrays. All of us (except Nick) were terrified in the beginning. We were all huddled up next to one another. It was so much fun -- I would do it again in a heartbeat. We also went snorkeling. I always enjoy snorkeling -- it is so relaxing and neat to explore.

In Cozamel we drove "Mini Yeeps" (that's how our Mexican tour guide pronounced "mini Jeeps"). We drove them to a Myan Temple, to see salt water crocodiles and to the beach (where a few of us went snorkeling again).

When we returned to Florida we went parasailing. I enjoyed this activity from the boat because of the baby. Everyone really enjoyed this activity, but they were all very nervous in the beginning. They were lifted into the air about 800 feet. Crazy . . . but fun!

We ate lots of food, spent plenty of time in the sun and enjoyed our time together. What a fun trip.

Here are some pictures.
